I am lucky.
See that guy smiling from the grocery cart. His name is Jace, and he is 2 1/2 years old. My only child, I get to spend time with him every day. I am lucky.
I have a job that only pays a decent salary, and provides the two of us excellent health insurance. I am lucky.
I have an affordable house with a big backyard and a nice pool. I am lucky.
I have a nice, but not flashy car. It’s safe for traveling around town with my young son. I am lucky.
My circle of friends is small, but loyal. They are great people, and I enjoy spending time with them. I am lucky.
We live in a city we love. A 24-hour city with lots of attractions, plenty of sunshine and fun all around. I am lucky.
My health is relatively good. Sure I could lose a few pounds (okay, 40 pounds). I have started to wear cheaters to see small print. But overall I am doing well. I am lucky.
I have been to The Bahamas, Mexico, Canada, the Philippines and more than 35 states. I am lucky.
On this 2017 St. Patrick’s Day, I am lucky. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, everyone.
